Begun Bhaji – slices of marinated aubergine shallow fried to perfection

Macher Jhol – mildly spiced fish curry cooked with green beans and lots of gravy

Bhorta – a spiced smooth potato mash made with that all essential Bengali ingredient, mustard oil
